While articulating on the burgeoning credibility and significance of SCO efforts in the current circumstances, President Islam Karimov stressed its growing position in addressing regional and global security issues, combating international terrorism, separatism and extremism, drug trafficking and other challenges and threats in the strategically important Central Asian region. |

Welcoming the guest, the Head of state expressed condolence once again to the leadership and people of the Russian Federation due to the death of civilians as a result of terrorist attacks in Moscow subway on March 29. With regard to the current state of Uzbek-Russian relations, President of Uzbekistan noted the steadily high level of their development in many areas. |
Welcoming the guest, the Head of state said relations between Uzbekistan and Oman have been developing steadily. President Karimov’s state visit to Oman in October 2009 facilitated to raise the bilateral cooperation to a higher new level, and about twenty documents were signed during that visit. |
At the official welcoming ceremony at Kuksaroy, a guard of honor lined up in tribute to the guest, and national anthems of the two countries got played when the heads of state raised to the podium. Welcoming the guest, the Head of state held that Uzbekistan has actively interacted with numerous authoritative international financial institutions, yet it attaches a particular magnitude to the expansion of cooperation with the ADB. A long-standing and reliable partner of the republic, the ADB has consistently elaborated – together with Uzbek specialists – and implemented a strategy of cooperation with our nation in various sectors of economy. The 43rd Annual Meeting of ADB, to be called in early May this year in Tashkent, will be the Bank’s first such gathering in the Central Asian region, in acknowledgement by the international community of the model of economic reforms constantly perfected in the republic. |
According to Head of our state, the visit constitutes a good opportunity to exchange views on issues of both bilateral and multilateral nature in order to raise the level of mutual relations. Today, both countries develop their cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and many other spheres. |
Greeting the guest with appointment to a position of Prime Minister, Head of Uzbekistan noted that the participation of Kyrgyz delegation in the joint Uzbek-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on such a level is remarkable in the efforts to improve mutual cooperation.
