President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov at Oqsaroy, January 18.

According to Head of our state, the visit constitutes a good opportunity to exchange views on issues of both bilateral and multilateral nature in order to raise the level of mutual relations.

Today, both countries develop their cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and many other spheres.

At the talk, Igor Shuvalov expressed gratitude to President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome, and stressed his delight with the state of bilateral relations and implementation of agreements reached during previous summits.

Prospects to enhance bilateral cooperation as well as other topics of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
