President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on 2 March approving the appointment of Avazjon Rahimovich Marahimov to the post of the minister of public education.

On 1 March, the head of the state appointed new minister of higher and specialized secondary education, as well as chairmen of the State Demonopolization Committee and the State Property Committee.
